    Competed at the National Championship Air Races in the Formula One class. The primary pilot was Tom Hayden. Qualified in 24th place with an average speed of 164.45 mph. Raced in Tin Heat. Finished in 3rd place with an average speed of 155.09 mph. Raced in Heat 2D. Finished in 8th place with an average speed of 140.00 mph. Raced in the Medallion 2 race. Finished in 7th place with an average speed of 153.87 mph.

    From 30 April 1982 to 2 May 1982

    Raced as #20, named Slow Motion.
    Competed in the Wenatchee Air Races event. The primary pilot was Bob Drew from Saratoga, CA. Qualified in 9th place with an average speed of 168.172 mph. Raced in Heat 1. Finished in 3rd place with an average speed of 166.33 mph. Raced in Heat B. Finished in 4th place with an average speed of 166.921 mph. Raced in the Bronze 2 race. Finished in 5th place with an average speed of 161.904 mph. Raced in the Silver Final race. Finished in 5th place with an average speed of 164.725 mph.

    22 January 1985

    Crashed.
    There was one minor injury. The accident occurred at the Lake Village Airport (C98) Lake Village, IN, United States while landing. The damage was substantial.

    Was to have competed at the National Championship Air Races in the F1 class, but did not arrive. The primary pilot was to be Matthew D. Moore. Matt Moore comments on Facebook (8 September 2022): Sad to report that The ACME Special and I will not be competing at the Reno National Championship Air Races this year. We ran into too many last-minute issues to overcome this year. Be assured that we have some very exciting developments for 2023!
