    Transferred to VF-6.
    Assigned as personal aircraft of Lt. Alexander Vraciu.

    10 January 1944

    VF-6 assigned to USS Intrepid (CV-11).

    29 January 1944

    Used by Vraciu to shoot down three G4Ms.

    16 February 1944

    Used by Vraciu to shoot down three A6Ms and one A6M2-N during Operation Hailstone.

    Transferred to VF-18.

    2 June 1944

    Last flight.

    From 14 June 1944 to 22 June 1944

    Transported by ship. Delivered to NAS Alameda, Alameda, CA.

    15 August 1944

    Transferred to NAS Glenview, Glenview, IL.

    29 August 1944

    Transferred to Naval Air Technical Training Command, Chicago, IL.

    31 August 1944

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Navy.

    September 1944

    Displayed at Wrigley Field alongside Alex Vraciu as part of rally.

    Based with Chicago Vocational School, Chicago, IL.
    NATTC closed, facilities transferred to school.
