    Constructed as a F-14A-60-GR by Grumman at Calverton, New York, USA.

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 158616.

    To Naval Air Test Center (NATC) Patuxent River, MD.
    Markings added: 17
    F-14A 158616 was used for carrier suitability testing following the crash and destruction of F-14A 157989.

    Notes: Note the ANYTIME, BABY, Tomcat zap at the base of the rudder. This zap was placed in the same position on the opposite rudder as well.

    Markings Applied: 8616, NAVAL AIR TEST CENTER
    Often flew with just the pilot in it and no back seater/RIO. A dummy named Clyde was used for weight and balance.

    From 16 May 1980 to 15 October 1985

    Transferred to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) with inventory number 1K0002.
    F-14A 158616 was the second F-14 to be sent to AMARC.

    By 1988

    Remanufactured as a F-14A-135-GR by Grumman at Calverton, New York, USA.

    Circa February 1988

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 158616.

    23 February 1988

    To VF-201.
    Markings added: AF-107

    By April 1998

    Markings Applied: AF-113

    7 October 1998

    Transferred to VF-101.

    21 March 2001

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Navy.
