    Constructed as a RC-121D.

    Circa 1955

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 53-0555.

    18 September 1962

    Redesignated as EC-121D.

    By 1967

    Transferred to Det 1., 553nd Airborne Early Warning and Control Wing, Korat RTAFB, Thailand.
    First EC-121D to land at Korat RTAFB.

    24 October 1967

    While stationed airborne over Gulf of Tonkin, this aircraft guided a US fighter by radar into position to destroy a MiG-21. First time a weapons controller on airborne radar aircraft had directed a successful attack on an enemy plane.

    Transferred to 552nd Airborne Early Warning and Control Wing, Korat RTAFB, Thailand.

    9 August 1971

    Ferry flight. Delivered to National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
    Ferried from McClellan AFB.
