    22 March 1985

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Cape Cod Airport Marston Mills, MA, United States while landing. The damage was substantial. The aircraft nosed over after contacting an utility pole during an overrun landing. The aircraft touched down approximately 1/2 way down the runway and the pilot applied brakes, however, braking action was poor because of the wet grass runway. The aircraft skidded off the end of the runway where it contacted the utility pole and nosed over.

    1 May 1987

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Hampton Airport (7B3) Hampton, NH, United States while going around. The damage was substantial. While on final approach, the pilot stated that the aircraft encountered a moderate crosswind. At abt mid-field, the pilot elected to make a go-around, however, due to windshear and/or downdrafts, the aircraft was unable to climb. The stearman collided with several tall trees off the end of the runway and came to rest at the base of one of them.

    Crashed.
    There were two minor injuries. The accident occurred at the Bayport Aerodrome Airport (23N) Bayport, NY, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. The pilot reported that he had conducted six previous uneventful flights on the day of the accident utilizing both runways 18 and 36 for takeoff due to variable winds. He elected to depart from runway 18 on the accident flight, because the windsock indicated a primarily southwesterly wind...
