    Constructed as a F-14A-15-GR by Grumman at Calverton, New York, USA.
    4th pre-production F-14 Tomcat.

    7 October 1971

    First flight.

    26 October 1971

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Navy with BuNo 157983.

    After 26 October 1971

    Transferred to Naval Missile Center, PT. Mugu, CA.
    Operated with markings: 4

    By July 1972

    While at the Naval Missile Center, it was used for the testing of the AWG-9 Fire Control System. This was the long-range air-to-air system capable of guiding several AIM-54 Phoenix missiles simultaneously, using its track while scan mode. It was the first F-14 to recieve the AWG-9 FCS.

    Markings Applied: NAVY, 204, 7983
    Carried the insignia for the Phoenix missile system on the vertical tails. Modex was 204.

    27 October 1981

    Transferred to the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center (AMARC) with inventory number 1K0004.

    5 August 1985

    To NATTC, Memphis, TN.
    Used to train firefighting crews.

    20 December 1995

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Navy.

    To NAS Pensacola, Pensacola, FL.
