    Constructed as a B-50D-115-BO by Boeing at Seattle, Washington, USA.

    Circa 1950

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the United States Army Air Force with s/n 49-0310.

    1953

    Converted to a WB-50D.
    Modified with high-altitude weather samplers, doppler radar, weather radar and bomb-bay fuel tank for extended range.

    Transferred to 97th Bombardment Wing (M), Biggs, AFB, TX.
    Flew missions to sample air for radioactive particles, determining if Soviet Union had detonated a nuclear weapon.

    April 1955

    Transferred to Air Weather Service.

    9 July 1956

    Transferred to 57th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, Hickam AFB, HI.

    8 August 1958

    Transferred to Hayes Aircraft Corp.
    For IRAN.

    29 October 1958

    Transferred to 55th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, Hickam AFB, HK.

    5 April 1961

    Transferred to Douglas Aircraft, Tulsa, OK.
    For IRAN.

    Pat Hanavan comments (30 November 2015): I flew 49-0310 to Tulsa. Captain Charles R. Lewis was the aircraft commander.

    12 May 1961

    Transferred to 56th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, Yokota Air Base, Japan.

    13 September 1965

    From NMUSAF: Departed Yokota AB, Japan to be ferried to Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. Enroute it accomplished two standard weather reconnaissance missions.

    September 1965

    Assigned to Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ for storage.
    Was the last WB-50D flying.

    17 June 1966

    Transferred to Air Force Systems Command, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
    Returned to temporary service as JB-50D for test programs.

    Pat Hanavan comments (30 November 2015): I flew selected 49-0310 from the WB-50D/s in flyable storage at MASDC and flew it to WPAFB. Maj Larry Bush was the copilot.

    Redesignated as JB-50D.
    Pat Hanavan comments (30 November 2015): Redesignated JB-50D, not DB-50D, for the Program 665A flight test. I was the program test pilot at Cargo Flight Test, ASD Directorate of Flight Test.

    Circa 1967

    Struck off Strength/Charge from the United States Air Force.

    29 April 1968

    Ferry flight. Delivered to United States Air Force Museum, Wright Field, Dayton, OH.
    Ferried to Wright Field to await opening of new museum facility.
