    Constructed as a STM.
    ST-A with two wing-mounted Lewis machine guns and enlarged cockpit cutouts.

    1938

    Taken on Strength/Charge with the Fuerza Aerea Guatemalteca.

    Circa 1946

    To Sam Poole.
    Acquired several disassembled Ryans from Guatemala.

    Circa 1947

    To LT. Col. Edward F. Ortowski.
    Purchased all the disassembled Ryans.

    Converted to a ST-A.
    From the disassembled Ryans Lt.Ortowski was able to construct one ST-A.

    By March 1962

    To LT. Col. Edward F. Ortowski with new c/r N17349 {2}.

    16 March 1962

    Certificate of airworthiness for N17349 {2} (ST-A, 195) issued.

    Notes: At Lakeland, Florida

    After about a year of flying, the STA was extensively damaged in a ground accident. Before the reassembly could be completed, Edward was killed in an airplane crash. Ortowskis widow put the STA up for sale, and it was purchased by Walter Hill. (EAA Museum).

    To Walter Hill keeping c/r N17349 {2}.

    Restored.
    Restored the plane to original condition.

    2003

    To EAA Aviation Museum, Oshkosh, WI.
    Donated by Walter Hill.
