    Constructed as a Camel (replica).
    The fuselage was built by Nat de Flavia and the wings were built by Cole Palen. The machine is powered with a 160 hp Gnome rotary engine.

    Crashed.
    The accident occurred at the Old Rhinebeck Airport (NY94) Rhinebeck, NY, United States while taking off. The damage was substantial. The pilot went to the airport for the purpose of conducting an initial checkout in the single-seat replica of a Sopwith Camel. Assisted by a flight instructor who was highly experienced in the same make and model, the pilot completed the preflight, rehearsed various cockpit operations and then boarded to practice taxiing...
