Notes: 1966 saw the debut of a new 190 cubic inch class racer named Shushonik. It was flown by Howard Terrill during the 1966 season. This airplane was later flown by Sal Lanese and named Deja Vu. Bob Pauley took this photo at the 1966 Reno Air Races.

Notes: Some remember that in the 1960s Clay Lacy took the place of the Galloping Ghost at Cleveland but being forever in 3rd place in the Unlimited Class Final Race. Well almost like the Galloping Ghost which was a consistent 4th place finisher at Cleveland, the lone exception being 1948. Bob Pauley photo.

Notes: Ben Hall and Esthers Mink preparing to take off for the 1966 Reno Gold Unlimited Final. He would finish in 2nd place. This 2nd place combined with his 2nd place finish at the 1966 Lancaster Air Races meant that Ben was the 1966 Unlimited Point champion.

Airframe: North American-Red Baron Racing Team RB-51, s/n 44-84961 USAAF, c/n 124-44817, c/r N7715C {1}
Notes: 1966 was the first year that this Mustang, N7715C would be seen in Unlimited Class Competition at Reno. It was flown that year and through 1970 by Chuck Hall. Of course this same airplane would become Roto Finish Special and then the Red Baron.
