    Notes: c/n 19934. Heres the Bureau of Mineral Resources DC-3 VH-BUR after it was handed over to the NSW Department of Lands Aerial Survey Unit and operated for them on contract by Airlines of NSW. The Navigators position behind the cockpit had an extra window and astrodome on the roof. Photographed at Milldura Vic in July 1965.

    Airframe: North American-Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation CA-18-Mk 22 Mustang, s/n A68-198 RAAF, c/n 1523, c/r N286JB
    Notes: Another CA-18 Mustang Mk.22 held by Fawcett Aviation was A68-198, seen on the grass at Bankstown in January 1967. It went on to an adventurous life, restored in USA as a warbird and air racer, flying in France and then back to the United States.

    Airframe: de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter, c/n 258, c/r C-FXRI
    Notes: TAA Sunbird Services in Papua New Guinea took over four Qantas DHC-3 Otters. VH-SBT was at Bankstown in July 1967 in a colourful scheme of blue and white, dayglo orange rudder and wing tips, yellow bird of paradise. Named - Kerowagi.

    Notes: c/n 13459. VH-MIN at Essendon in January 1964 flew mineral survey for the Bureau of Mineral Resources. This Government body showed rare flair by registering its two DC-3s VH-BUR and VH-MIN and their Auster VH-RES. This DC-3 was orange, white and grey and usually had a magnetometer boom extending from under the tail.

    Notes: Aero Club of Southern Tasmania at Hobart also had Chipmunks. This was one of theirs, seen at Benalla Vic in March 1969 now with a private owner, painted with an unconvincing Flying Tigers sharks mouth on the cowlings.

    Notes: MMAs VH-MMA RMA Ashburton at Perth in June 1968, departing on a passenger service to Albany. Formerly a C-47A with USAAF 5th Air Force - this aircraft is still operational, based in Darwin with Hardy Aviation.

    Airframe: North American-Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation CA-18-Mk 22 Mustang, s/n A68-187 RAAF, c/n 1512, c/r N50FS
    Notes: Fawcett Aviation at Bankstown Airport, Sydney had DCA approval to operate Mustangs strictly as target tugs and for other military contracts. One of their spare aircraft was CA-18 Mk.22 PR version A68-187, seen at Bankstown in July 1967. This was later temporarily fitted with a RR Dart turboprop before sale to USA where it today flies as a Reno air racer.
