    Notes: When East West Airlines retired several DC-3s in 1967, their ownership was transferred to associate company Pacific and Western Aviation at Tamworth to arrange their disposal. VH-PWN was previously VH-EWF. It was photographed at Tamworth in September 1968 prior to its sale to Queensland Pacific Trading Ltd.

    Notes: Fawcett Aviations CA-17 Mustang Mk.20 VH-BOY Yankee at Adelaide Airport in March 1966 while on an Army target towing contract. A rearward-facing winch operator behind the pilot managed the mile-long target cable, using the wind-powered winch on the fuselage side. Doug Fawcett also operated Illawarra Flying School at Bankstown, hence the slogan on the tail.

    Notes: Those canvas covers certainly spoil a picture. CA-18 Mustang Mk.21 A68-104 outside Adastra Aerial Surveys hangar at Sydney Airport in January 1964. Adastras plans to use it for high altitude photography had been abandoned and it was sold to a private owner. A68-104 flew out on 2 August 1964 on delivery, and was based on a farm at Jerilderie NSW. It later became VH-BOB

    Notes: VH-MJR was a magnetometer survey machine owned by Aero Service Corp of Philadelphia. As N9032H they had operated it all over the world since 1946, being based in Turkey, Libya and Egypt before ferrying to Sydney in August 1961. The former US Navy R4D-4 was registered VH-MJR to Sydney associate company Aero Service Ltd. Seen at Adelaide in November 1964 while it operated a low level mineral survey over St Vincents Gulf SA.

    Notes: Royal Aero Club of WA were the first to introduce Chipmunks in 1952 and operated many over the years, standardising on a bright red and white colour scheme. VH-FLC photographed at Jandakot Airport, Perth in June 1968 in that scheme was previously with the club as VH-RWI.

    Notes: This is the incomplete airframe of CA-17 Mustang Mk.20 A68-71 used for many years as an instructional airframe at the Midland Technical College Aeronautical Annexe near Perth Airport WA. It was later acquired by Derek MacPhail as basis for a long-term restoration project and moved from Perth to Victoria, where work continues.
