    Photos of roadside warbirds and museum collections are most welcome.
    Photos of aircraft as they are currently displayed are great, but photos of airframes in previous markings, with past owners or during a restoration are fantastic as well. You can help document the history of airframes with photos!

    Airframe: Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) CA-16 Wirraway, s/n A20-652 RAAF, c/n 1104, c/r VH-WIR
    Notes: Wirraway A20-652 parked in the back garden of the Fleet Wings Service Station at Laverton, Victoria in January 1964. This had been acquired two months earlier for 40 GB Pounds when CAC at Fishermans Bend disposed of 37 Wirraways in storage for rebuilding as CA-28 Ceres. Ceres production however was terminated in 1963 after only 20 aircraft had been completed.

    Airframe: Consolidated-Canadian Vickers Canso A, s/n 11055 RCAF, c/n CV-359, c/r VH-AGB {2}
    Notes: Adastra Aerial Surveys imported this Canadian-built Catalina in 1956 for magnetometer mineral survey work in Australia. It was a former Royal Canadian Air Force PBV-1A Canso A, built by Canadian Vickers. After retired by Adastra, it was stripped for parts for TAAs Catalinas in Papua New Guinea. In May 1963 it was outside the Bristol Aviation Services hangar at Bankstown.

    Airframe: de Havilland-de Havilland Australia Mosquito PR.41, s/n A52-319 RAAF, c/r VH-WAD
    Notes: From the other side in May 1968. It was acquired by a Perth dealer but the laminated wooden fuselage broke in two during lifting on to a truck. The Mosquito survived lengthy storage and an attempt to ship it to an American buyer and is now displayed in Canberra at the Australian War Museum

    Notes: Australian-built Mosquito PR Mk.41 A52-319 was purchased by Captain James Woods, former senior pilot of MMA in Perth, to enter in the 1953 London-Christchurch Air Race as VH-WAD - The Quokka. His sponsor withdrew at the last moment and the Mosquito was left in a hangar at Perth Airport. By May 1968 this invaluable aircraft had been towed to the airport dump site where it rapidly deteriorated in the weather.

    Airframe: Supermarine Sea Otter, s/n JN200 RAAF, c/n JN200, c/r VH-BQI
    Notes: This former Royal Australan Navy Vickers-Supermarine Sea Otter JN200 was civilianised as VH-BQI in 1954 but did little flying before being retired on a farm at Awaba NSW near Lake Macquarie. The civilian white and green paint job was soon worn off by the weather, showing the original Royal Navy camouflage scheme beneath. Pictured in July 1967 when the big amphibian was derelict but still in one piece. Its forward fuselage is all that was saved, now in the Navy museum at Nowra.
