Photos of roadside warbirds and museum collections are most welcome. Photos of aircraft as they are currently displayed are great, but photos of airframes in previous markings, with past owners or during a restoration are fantastic as well. You can help document the history of airframes with photos!

Notes: Corben - Lambert Baby Ace D (N9017C) -
Stafford Casey Lambert built his Baby Ace, using light and highly durable 1938 Edo floats. This splendid little aircraft was also able to do aerobatic manoeuvers.

Featured in Popular Mechanics, this homebuilt brought the EAA to national attention, its founder, Paul Pobereszny being one of the builders of this 1955 example. Power is from a 65-hp Continental. If you like this airplane, plans are still available!

With the fancy paint job and wheel pants, I had trouble recognising this bird without the usual RAF or RCAF roundels. This trainer turned aerobat was built in 1950.

Notes: On this great day flying a military support mission in this aircraft we experienced a total engine failure, catastrophic, while climbing thru 700 feet AGL. Auto with turn, 270 degrees and the only damage to the aircraft, outside of the engine, was a shrapnel hole in the tail rotor pylon! A great day for the five souls I had flying with me that day. We replaced the engine, Pease AFB New Hampshire MA in one week and flew her home to Otis ANG Base where she was stationed in my unit Aviation Brigade 26th ID. She flew for ten more years with us before Blackhawks arrived in the unit.

Photo Date: On 19 June 1970
Credit: Tim Martin
Date Uploaded: 18 November 2015
Airframe: Consolidated PBY-5 Catalina, c/n 1584, c/r N19Q
Notes: N19Q at Winnipeg on 19Jun70 -
The Super Catalina STC replaced R-1830 engines with R-2600s which required a larger distinctive angular tail as seen here. This luxury private barge also includes rear stair, modified blister windows and what looks like weather radar on the right wing. Spot of engine trouble here judging by the removed cowlings. Sadly in 1972 it sank in the Mediterranean Sea off Monaco when the hull got holed.
