    Notes: 1973 photo at Gimli MB - A 1943 built Noorduyn Norseman originally built for the USAF as a UC-64, it was imported in the late 1940s and here in service with Ontario Central Airlines. It is now mounted on a pylon at Red Lake/ON.

    Notes: 1973 photo at Winnipeg - Originally built for United Airlines in 1940, this DC-3 was impressed into the military in 1942 then found its way to Canada in 1967. It is here in service with an Edmonton based company. Retired in 1980, I subsequently saw it with Buffalo Airways at Red Deer/AB in non-flying condition

    Notes: 1973 photo at Winnipeg - This Lockheed 18 Lodestar was built as a C-60 for the USAF in 1943. Civilianized after WW-II, like many it was converted to the Howard 250 standard, with long nose and panoramic windows being the most obvious features. It was wrecked in 1977 after a take-off was attempted with ice on the wings
