Photo Date: Circa 1931 Credit: Unknown Photographer via Craig Wilkerson Date Uploaded: 24 July 2017 Airframe: Travel Air A-6000A, c/n 2007, c/r N161V Notes: Pilot Earl A Field flew this aircraft for Loffland Oil Company out of Tulsa Oklahoma. Earl was born in Hoisington KS, barnstormed throughout the Midwest, had close friendships with many of the eras aviation luminaries including Will Rogers, Wiley Post, Jimmy Doolittle, Floyd Bennett, Claire Chennault, and many others. He served in the Pacific during WWII flying P40s and P38s. He attained rank of Colonel while in command of Hunter AAF in Savannah GA. He retired in Coffeyville KS where he died in 1961.
