Notes: Trans International was an experienced heavy charter operator, in 1979 using a large fleet of Electras, Hercules, DC-8s and DC-10s.
One of their windowless freighter Electras N852U is seen arriving at Miami international Airport in October 1979

Notes: The Convair CV-580 model had Allison engines and paddle-blade propellers, similar to the Lockheed Electra power plant.

Notes: Main competitor to Martin 404 production was the Convairliner series.

Airframe: Nihon Aeroplane Manufacturing Company (NAMC) YS-11A-500, c/n 2051, c/r 9Q-CYS
Notes: A new propliner type introduced to USA during the late 1970s was the NAMC YS-11, purchased from Japanese airlines.
Pinehurst Airways flew them as freighters on contract to Airborne Charter Express. N158P at Wilmington, Ohio September 1979

Airframe: Vought Kingfisher I, s/n A48-2 RAAF, c/n 2475
Notes: At Warbirds Aviation Museum, Mildura - Vought Sikorsky OS2U Kingfisher A48-2 JE-B was a RAAF Lake Boga disposal which was found on an orchard at nearby Merbein.
The orchardist intended to make the main float and two under wing floats into canoes on the River Murray.
Pearce later sold this rare Kingfisher and a Catalina to John Bell at Albany WA, where both were restored for display

Airframe: Curtiss Kittyhawk I, s/n A29-53 RAAF, c/n 16738
Notes: The fuselage of RAAF Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk A29-53 was found on a farm near Colac Vic in 1966.
It was displayed at the museum for many years mounted on a spare CAC Mustang mainplane as seen here

Airframe: Bristol Beaufighter IC, s/n A19-43 RAAF, c/n T5049
Notes: seen on the 1972 visit was this fuselage of RAAF Bristol Beaufighter A19-43, from a farm at Nhill, Victoria.
15 years later this and other Beaufighter sections were sold for restoration for the USAF Museum at Wright Patterson AFB Ohio,
where it is displayed today representing USAAF 415th Night Fighter Squadron Beaufighter KV912 in the Mediterranean Theatre
